The Grand Bank / Fortune Ambulance Service Inc. is responsible for delivering pre-hospital health care to approximately 5000 people. As licensed by the Public Utilities Board (PUB) of the Government of Newfoundland & Labrador, we serve the residents of Point May, Fortune, Grand Bank, Grand Beach, Frenchman's Cove and Garnish. We are also required to respond to any motor vehicle accidents along any of the highways between Frenchman's Cove intersection and the Point May intersection. Residents of Garnish have the option of calling our ambulance service or either the Marystown Ambulance Service or Collin's Ambulance Service; this is because most of the residents of Garnish travel to the Burin Peninsula Health Care Center (which is located in Salt Pond) and the distance between Garnish and Salt Pond is closer than the distance between Garnish and Grand Bank. Residents of Frenchman's Cove are required to call the Grand Bank / Fortune Ambulance Service for your pre-hospital health care needs.
We are also on standby for neighboring ambulance services around the peninsula; Marystown Ambulance Service, Collin's Ambulance Service - St. Lawrence, Bay L'argent Ambulance Service and Fewer's Ambulance Service at Terranceville all operate on the Burin Peninsula in their respective service area.
